About YAH
You Are Hear (YAH) is a silent disco experience founded by Megan Allen, a Two-Spirit Indigenous woman who believes in bringing love, light and joy to the world.
In short, we curate routes through the streets and shores of LA and then create custom music mixes that match up to the environment. At the event, we guide beautiful people (that’s you!) wearing light-up headphones along the route. It’s an adventure you will never forget.
You Are Hear started as a dream and grew as a GoFundMe. In less than 24 hours, Megan raised over $2,000, and in 10 days, she’d met her goal. Then, less than a month after the campaign ended, YAH was born.
Our events are built on the belief that Music and Dance have the power to change people in an instant. When we dance freely, our bodies and souls connect. We spark endorphins and spill laughter. It’s a contagious kind of joy. You Are Here is an experience that seeks to invoke these elements of societal change and self expression.
About Megan Allen
Founder & CEO
Hello! My name is Megan (she/her). I’m a curvaceous warrior, artist, activist, storyteller, musical curator, singer, dancer, community builder and—now—business owner.
As a kid, I traveled across the U.S. but New York became my home before I moved to Los Angeles. In NYC, I was a member of The Glamazons, a plus-size girl group you may recognize from America’s Got Talent. I live to give people magical moments and empower people’s sense of childlike wonder.
When I’m not creating immersive experiences for You Are Hear, I’m riding my bike, building a bonfire on the beach or slinging custom cocktails for friends.
